Voice journaling with an AI that talks back

Journaling works because it makes you slow down and say what is true. DeepDrive lets you do it out loud, with a partner that asks the next question and a summary you can return to.

Why journal by voice

A blank page asks a lot of you. You have to decide where to start, find the words and type them, all before you have worked out what you feel. Speaking lowers that bar. Most people can talk for five minutes about a hard week long before they can write a paragraph about it.

The weakness of talking alone is that nobody asks the follow-up. You say the first layer, and the conversation ends there. A journal that talks back asks what is underneath.

What the conversation feels like

You open a topic, such as “What I want from this year” or “Why this week felt so heavy”, and start talking. Your partner speaks first with a warm, short opening and asks one question. When you pause, it reflects a few words back and asks the next one. Nova, the warm guide, is built for exactly this: patient, unhurried, and good at helping you notice what you already believe.

You can talk for ten minutes or forty. When you are done, say “wrap up” or tap End. You get a short written summary on the topic: what you covered, what you decided, what is still open and one small next step.

A journal without a recording

People are understandably careful about what they say out loud to an app. So here is exactly how it works:

  • Audio is never stored. It streams live and is not kept.
  • Text chats are not stored on our servers either.
  • Only the summary is saved on your topic, so you keep the thinking and not the raw words.
  • Transcripts are off by default. If you want them, turn on Keep transcripts in Settings; they are deleted after 90 days.
  • You can export or delete everything from Settings.

The details are in the privacy policy. One more honest note: DeepDrive is a thinking tool, not therapy or medical advice. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a professional or local emergency services.

Make it a habit

The summaries are what make this a journal and not a one-off chat. Each time you open the same topic, your partner starts from where you left off and from the question you left open. Over a few weeks you build a history of what you decided and why, which is the part most journals never deliver.

Some ideas for recurring topics: a weekly review, a decision you are living with, a relationship you want to understand better, a project you keep avoiding, or simply “What is on my mind?”. The library has hand-picked starters if you would rather not choose.

When typing is better

Some days you cannot talk: you are in a shared space, or the words come easier on a keyboard. Open a text chat on the same topic. The partner and the summary are the same, and a reply costs only a token or two. You can mix both across the week.
