Thinking is easier when you are not staring at a screen
Many people do their clearest thinking away from the keyboard. Walking loosens things. So do showers, errands and quiet drives. The problem is that those moments end without anything captured. You have a good thought at minute ten and lose it by minute thirty.
DeepDrive is built for that kind of time. You bring a topic, talk it through, and the conversation turns into a summary you can read later.
Four places it works well
On a walk
Put in headphones, open a topic and talk. Walking steadies your pace, and the partner's one-question-at-a-time rhythm suits it. It is a good setting for decisions that feel tangled.
At your desk
Use voice when you want to get unstuck fast, or text chat when you are in a shared space. Keep the topic open next to your work and return to it between tasks.
On a drive
It works hands-free, so some people use it on drives. Set it up before you start, keep your eyes and hands on the road, and never handle the phone while the car is moving. See help for the safety notes.
On the couch
Sometimes the best time is the quiet one after everyone is asleep. Text chat is gentler on a house, and voice works with a single earbud.
How it works in practice
- Choose or write a topic before you start. A one-line question is enough.
- Start talking. Your partner speaks first, and keeps replies short so you stay in the lead.
- Use your own pace. Pause to think. If you go quiet, your partner checks in once, and if you stay silent the session closes and is saved, so you never pay for dead air.
- End when you are done. You get a short summary, and your open question is saved for next time.
What to know about voice on a phone
Voice runs in your phone's browser, so a few honest limits apply. Keep the screen on while you talk. Locking the phone or switching apps pauses the conversation, and DeepDrive saves it so you can continue. Headphones and car Bluetooth work; CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported yet. A paused conversation stops using tokens after about twenty seconds, so you never pay for time you were not there. The help page covers all of this in more detail.
Pick your partner for the setting
DeepDrive has three thinking partners. Nova is the warm guide: patient, encouraging, good at helping you find what you already believe. Atlas is the sharp strategist: direct, structured, and quick to test your weakest assumption and push toward a decision. Juno is the playful spark: curious and quick, with a what-if for when you are stuck. All three follow the same rules. Only their tone and the kind of push differ.
A calm Nova suits a slow walk. A direct Atlas suits a ten-minute slot before a meeting. A playful Juno suits a stuck afternoon.
Start in a minute
You can start without a card: you get 4,000 free tokens (about 40 minutes of voice). If you want to see the numbers first, read pricing, or learn how the same approach helps you talk through ideas and journal by voice.
