Keep DeepDrive open with the screen on. The app keeps your screen from sleeping while you talk (you'll see "Screen stays on"). Mount the phone where you can see it, the way you would for navigation.
Locking the phone or switching apps pauses the conversation. Phone browsers turn the microphone off when the screen locks or another app takes over, on iPhone and on Android. DeepDrive saves where you were. Come back within 30 minutes and tap once to continue: the AI reminds you where you left off in one sentence.
Headphones and car Bluetooth work. You can connect or disconnect AirPods or your car mid-conversation; DeepDrive switches to the new microphone and keeps going. CarPlay and Android Auto aren't supported yet.
A paused conversation stops using tokens. About 20 seconds after you leave, the voice connection closes, so you're never billed for time you weren't there.
Some browsers can't keep the screen on. Turn off auto-lock while you talk, and turn it back on afterwards:
If you allow notifications, DeepDrive tells you when a conversation pauses, so you can tap the notification and pick it back up.
Set everything up before you start. Talk hands-free and never handle the phone while the car is moving. If you need to tap to continue, wait until you've stopped safely.
